Reflecting On the End of the Year

I am feeling extremely blessed with the number of clients I received for Christmas Portrait Sessions this year! I had 11 people schedule their children to be photographed by me and that was perfect. I wish I could have scheduled more, but I had to evenly space sessions out with having little ones & the actual studio not being finished yet.

This year I decided to keep things simple with the choice of a white or black backdrop and using more props. The white seemed to compliment everyones wardrobes better and turned out to be a great hit. Next year I promise that there will be more backdrop selections available and I will make more spots available so more people can participate. There will also be another outdoor christmas session next year and I'm hoping our location can be at a Christmas Tree Farm! Just keep in mind that I start running my christmas specials in November.

I met so many little personalities during the past few weeks and I loved them all. Even the stubborn little ones who didn't want their pictures taken started warming up to the camera and I was able to capture that perfect moment... A Frozen Moment for life! Though I've been in this field for 3 and a half years, I feel that I have gained so much more experience in these last few weeks and I've accomplished so much. I've learned that in order to get the shots I have in mind, I need to be more patient..Not with clients, but with myself. Photography is a form of Art and it's not just about snapping a few shots. While I knew that before, I'm now learning the patience that I didn't discipline myself with in the past and it shows in my work.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, each and every one of you who came to me for the holiday season! I have a very long week of editing ahead of me and I will not be scheduling any sessions between now and christmas. I will still be checking in if anybody wants to schedule a session in advance, that's always more than okay :) My next special will be the *~$20 Valentine Themed Special~* which will run January 26th Through Feb 3rd. I just ordered a red wine colored backdrop & a fur throw for newborns and I will be starting to make tutus soon, so this would be a great chance to use the new props! I hope everybody has a very Merry Christmas & I hope to see some of the same faces and new ones in 2013!
